(From the Support Team of Any Soldier Inc., 9 February 2010):
Dear Friend of Any Soldier®,
The families and friends of the 2nd Battalion 2nd Marines, aka "Warlords", look forward to that day when they finally get to throw their arms around your Marines and celebrate their safe return from Afghanistan! The goal of Operation Warlords Homecoming is to make it possible for every one of your Marines to return from war, walk into his barracks, and find a wonderful surpriseā¦a basket on his bed filled with his own sheets, blanket, pillow, toiletries, snacks, and "Welcome Home" cards and letters. Of course, the USMC provides the necessities for our troops, but as families and grateful Americans, we want our Warlords to have fresh new sheets, blankets, and pillows. For 7 months, your men have lived in the most primitive surroundings, sleeping in a sleeping bag on 2 inch plywood without a pillow, fully clothed, and often wearing hats and gloves to try to stay warm. After this long and strenuous deployment, we believe they deserve to come home to a bed with all of the comforts which we take for granted every day and which they have gone without while defending our freedom.
This project will take the help, talent, and support of many as we need supplies for approximately 900 Marines to make Operation Warlords Homecoming successful. Monetary donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated. If you have a heart and the means to support our project, please make out your check to Operation Warlords Homecoming and mail to:
